Başak Tulga Önen holds dual BSc degrees in Economics and Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, USA.
After graduating, she joined The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she worked in the San Francisco and New York offices. At BCG, Başak collaborated with clients across various industries, including biopharmaceuticals, telecommunications, consumer products, financial institutions, and the public sector. Her expertise spans business strategy, product strategy, growth strategy, post-merger integrations, change management, and smart simplicity. Consistently ranked among the top performers in her cohort, she made a significant impact in her projects.
In early 2016, she returned to Türkiye and co-founded the Mentoro Platform, where she currently serves as Director. She actively leads projects in business strategy, organizational development, digital transformation, and platform strategy. Başak also holds Board Member positions at smartcon, Analytics Center, Istanbul Tech Week, and Angel Effect.
A former professional basketball player, Başak captained Fenerbahçe and the Turkish national team. A loyal Boston Celtics fan, she enjoys watching documentaries in her free time. Başak is married, with a daughter and a son.
